In the fall of 2011, James Knoerl and Sam Harchik started the project now known as “Aviations.” That autumn season was filled with amazing people and musicians, countless learning experiences, and the breaking of today’s musical trends. Before James' acceptance to Berklee College of Music that fall, he had been writing songs in his high school years, without a clue who would be able play them. Once on campus, he met Sam, who was able to bring his ideas to life. When the pair had their album written, they continued recording in dorm rooms and sound proof practice cubicles. Soon after their dorm mate Shareef Addo was asked to play bass following his departure from a project of similar genre. From there, recording instrumentals for the album continued. The band had no legitimate plans for acquiring a vocalist for their musical venture, however, during the summer of 2012, Adam Benjamin demoed on some tracks and was given the spot. Following some personal and musical differences, a new addition to the band was announced on May 19th, 2013. Eric Palmer was asked to add his guitar playing to our group and he jumped at the opportunity. We look forward to working with him on our second release, which is currently under development.  Before that however, on October 13th, 2012, A Declaration of Sound,” the band’s debut release, was revealed, bringing the final product of the story so far to fruition. Due to the intensive instrumentals and intricate rhythms constructed for their listeners, Aviations powers your ability to become involved with each song, forcing you to tend to individual parts with exclusive attention, while linking everything to a whole-sound with ease. If your comprehension enjoys a challenge, give them a listen. Stay tuned with their Facebook page for updates on everything from their music, to shows, and update videos. Feel free to comment on their pages. They love hearing from those who enjoy their music and talking to those who their music has spoken to. With a wide range of style and taste, Aviations are an excellent addition to the modern metal scene. We hope to be on your playlist for many years to come. Thank you for checking out our merch store. We hope you'll find something you like, but we have more material in the works very soon...
